WordPress Website Pricing
How much does a WordPress website cost?
One of the questions we often get asked is: how much does it cost to build a WordPress website? While the core WordPress software is free, the cost of a website depends entirely on your budget and goals.
To create a self-hosted WordPress site, you need web hosting to store your files. Every website on the internet needs hosting. This is your website’s home on the internet. We have two different Managed Website Hosting plans available. You need to pick one that suits your requirements and fits your budget.
Depending on your needs, your cost to start a WordPress website can range from £1,000 to £3,000 to £5,000, to even as high as £30,000 or more.
It’s important to know what type of website you are building, and what you’ll need for it because that will directly affect your cost.
But don’t worry, we’ll advise you how to avoid a financial disaster and make the best decisions.
- Although hosting fees can start from as low as £1 per month, we have found you get what you pay for. If reliability, security and support are high on your list of priorities, we recommend using a ‘Managed WordPress Hosting’ company like us.
Design & Development
- By far the biggest unknown. We will calculate your design & development costs based on an estimated number of hours. The number of hours will vary dependent on the complexity of the website. We use a set fee of £60 /ph for all our services.
Maintenance & Support
- If your website is the primary source of marketing, you’ll want to look after it. Our Maintenance Contract offers a piece of mind and someone to turn to for updates and security issues. We also offer a 25% discount on all maintenance contracts over 20 hours.
For a professionally designed and developed WordPress website with Managed Website Hosting, you should budget £180 hosting per year + £2,400 (40 hours minimum) design and build. Add a £540 Maintenance Contract (20 hours minimum) if you would like ongoing support.
Projects do vary in size and complexity, which can affect your website build time. E-commerce sites, for example, require at least 60 – 80 hours. We hope this offers some guidance on expected costs. For a detailed estimate please contact us.
